Jeffrey Graham is the national head of the Financial Services Regulatory Practice of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG). He is recognized nationally and internationally for his expertise in the regulation of financial services entities. He is the longest serving member of the Board of Directors of the Toronto Financial Services Alliance (TFSA). TFSA is actively engaged in promoting Toronto and Canada as a preferred location for FinTech. Jeff began his legal practice in the Washington D.C. office of Hogan & Hartson (now Hogan Lovells) where he acted for US banking and thrift organizations. Before joining BLG, he served as Director of Legal Services for the Ministry of Financial Institutions (Ontario) where he was responsible for advising the Minister on legislation and policy related to provincially regulated deposit taking institutions, including credit unions, the securities industry, insurance companies and pension funds. Subsequently, Jeff headed the financial services practice of an international public policy consulting firm based in Ottawa where he represented major financial services trade associations and financial institutions in their dealings with Canadian federal financial institution regulators and the Government of Canada. Currently, Jeff advises domestic and international FinTech companies and entrepreneurs, on corporate matters, financing and compliance with federal and provincial financial services legislation and regulations. In 2017, he served as a FinTech regulatory expert to the Competition Bureau.
